Healing has been provided for us at salvation. Jesus couldn’t experience sickness and disease or any other part of the curse because He was the incorruptible Seed. Therefore, He suffered torture, pain, and humiliation. He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. He took stripes upon His back so that we would be healed. Healing is a part of our salvation.
Healing is already purchased. Paid for in full! The catch is, we must obtain it by faith. We must actually believe it is true for us personally.
We must nurture our faith with God’s Word if we are believing for healing in our bodies. The same applies if we are seeking healing for our minds. Faith for healing comes by hearing and feeding on God’s word about healing.
Hebrews 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
One of the most effective ways to nourish our faith is by speaking the word of God over ourselves. Declare with boldness that we believe and receive that promise for ourselves.
First and foremost, WE must be fully convinced that it is God’s will to heal US!

Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
In Christ, all our sins are forgiven. Don’t let Satan trick you into thinking you are not worthy. You are IN CHRIST! Christ is worthy!
Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destruction.
Jesus IS the WORD. The Bible is Jesus in print. The Word heals and delivers from destruction. That is the nature of the Word. There is health and healing in God’s Word. In John 1:14 we see the Word became flesh. The word of God concerning healing will still become flesh if we believe it
Proverbs 4:20-21 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. 23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
Life and health are found in God’s Word.
Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Jesus paid for our salvation, our healing, and our peace at the same time. These are all acts of mercy. Healing is a mercy. It has been paid for in full by the precious blood of Christ. This happened at the same time our salvation was purchased. We receive salvation through faith. We receive healing in the same way.
1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
Peter quotes Isaiah’s words, but he changes them to the past tense! By His stripes you WERE healed.
Isaiah 40:28-31 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
God gives power to the weak. Sickness is a weakness, and we are promised renewed strength as we wait upon Him.
Matthew 9:35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Every sickness and every disease. Jesus healed them all, with the exception of one group of people. His own people. Be careful who you listen to when believing for healing. The devil will use well-meaning Christians to fill you with negative thoughts and unbelief that can undermine your faith.
Matthew 13:58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Unbelief is the main reason people don’t receive healing. Unbelief can come from ignorance of the truth, wrong thinking, wrong believing, or in this case, familiarity. When unbelief is present, your faith is weak and needs to be fed God’s word.
Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.
Don’t let bad reports or persisting symptoms steal your joy or rob you of confidence. Staying positive is a real challenge. Doctors, symptoms, and negative thoughts seem to speak to you in a very loud voice.
