How to Walk in the Power of God.

Walking in the Power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit and the authority of the Kingdom of God has been a rare and missing component in Christianity as of late.

In the past several decades many books, teachings, and videos have been produced instructing us on how to operate in this power and authority, yet we have still seen a steady decline in the overall demonstration of the Church’s power. Less miracles, fewer healings, fewer signs, and wonders.

Could it be that our love for power has replaced the power of Love?

While praying about this the other day, the Lord spoke to me and said this:

“My people seek My power, but they don’t grow in My love. Love is the most powerful thing that exists because I AM Love.”

1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

The power of God in our lives is in direct proportion to the Love of God in our hearts.

The electricity in a home is regulated by fuses or “breakers” that are rated for different levels of power. Have you ever had the lights go out in your home because you had too many lights on or too many things plugged into the wall outlets in a certain room? You then had to go to the breaker box and flip the fuse back on to get the power restored. These fuses are there to protect us from too much power flowing through our house, causing a fire, and burning our house down.

God’s Love is much like those fuses. If Love is weak, not much power can flow through us. Love is the most powerful force in the universe because God Himself is Love. When love is limited, God’s power is limited.

The greatest power on Earth has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

As we express our love for God by obeying His word and yielding to His love in our hearts, we cultivate and nurture the love that is there, causing it to grow and bear the fruits of righteousness, releasing the power of God through our lives

John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.

John 14:21-24 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

The available power of God in our lives is in direct proportion to the Love for God in our hearts.

As the Love for God grows in our hearts, the power of God increases in our lives.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8a Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

Love is the most important thing we can learn. As we embrace Love, we embrace God. Love is not just His nature, it is Him!
