Social media has become a powerful platform for communication, information sharing, and social interaction. However, it has also given rise to various negative phenomena, one of which is rage baiting.
Rage baiting is a tactic used to provoke strong negative emotions in an audience with the intent of generating engagement or attention. The news media uses the same evil tactics to manipulate and elevate people’s emotions to influence political agendas and gain more votes. At least that is what the unspiritual man sees.
What is really happening?
Rage baiting is a form of demonic manipulation where individuals, groups, or political parties intentionally provoke anger or outrage in others by posting inflammatory content, such as controversial opinions, offensive statements, misleading information, and outright lies.
Satan’s goal with rage baiting is to get people, especially Christians, to make decisions based on elevated amotions instead of common sense or Biblical principles. This will ultimately lead to Christians defiling themselves by speaking and acting on these ungodly emotions. This is Satan’s Endgame.
Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
Rage baiting is a sign of the end times and a tool for multiplying his wrath on the Earth. Satan has come down to YOU, having great wrath and his favorite way to pour out his wrath is through Christians. Not ON, but THROUGH. He wants HIS wrath to pour out of YOUR life through ungodly words and actions.
Mathew 15:11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
Tactics used in Rage-Baiting
Rage baiting employs various tactics to achieve its objectives.
- Provocative Headlines: Using sensational or misleading headlines to grab attention and provoke an immediate emotional response.
- Controversial Topics: Posting about divisive issues, such as politics, religion, race, and gender equality to stir up strong feelings.
- Personal Attacks: Targeting specific individuals or groups with derogatory or offensive remarks to incite anger and provoke an ungodly response.
- Exaggeration and Hyperbole: Amplifying facts or situations to create a sense of urgency or outrage.
- False Information: Spreading misinformation, blatant lies, and fake news to manipulate public opinion and provoke reactions.
The impact of Rage-Baiting
Rage baiting has had significant consequences for both individuals and society. It has already shaped our culture and changed the entire landscape of the political arena.
Exposure to rage baiting causes high levels of stress, anxiety, and anger. Prolonged exposure can lead to emotional exhaustion and have a negative impact on mental health. Additionally, rage baiting can, and has resulted in harassment, bullying, and murder. Still, Christians don’t typically see it and get sucked into the vortex of emotional instability and confusion.
Rage baiting contributes to the polarization of society by deepening divides between different groups. It fosters a toxic online environment where constructive dialogue is replaced by hostility and aggression. This hinders collective problem-solving and compromises the quality of public discourse. Rage baiting exploits human emotions for attention and influence.
Why are Christians easily duped into engaging in this ungodly activity? Have we strayed so far from Christlikeness that the world can’t see the difference between a Christian and someone without God in their life?
A Tree is Known by its Fruit.
Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Rage-baiting stirs up the works of the flesh and bears the fruit of selfish desires.
James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Christians who respond to and engage in rage-baiting become a landing strip for demonic activity, empowering unclean spirits and giving them permission to attack their mind and influence their thinking.
Christians are expected to produce the fruit of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-26 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Make the Tree Good
Matthew 12:33 Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
